This 1.25" wide hard enamel pin is inspired by our love of Alabama and all the natural beauty it has to offer. It is the first in a special series celebrating the birds of the South.
The Northern Flicker - also known as the Yellowhammer Woodpecker - became the state bird of Alabama in 1927. The name Yellowhammer has been attributed to the story of a young company of Huntsville soldiers who arrived to battle sporting new uniforms with vibrant yellow spots on their sleeves, collars, and coattails.
It's only appropriate to showcase our Yellowhammer with Alabama's beautiful state flower, the camellia.
This hard enamel pin features black nickel plating and a double-post pin closure with rubber clutches and logo insignia on back.
